If My Net Worth Was $1,000 & Wanted $10 Million
Now that we got through the negative, single, double and triple digits, we have reached quadruple digits. If you are looking for that one stock pick at this level, you will be sad on the answer. At this point, you need a parachute to prevent you from getting back into debt. This money I would just be parking into a high yield savings account. You want something liquid enough that if you lose your major source of income, you have something to eat with. You also don't want 10% swings on it. Here is how to get to tomorrow's $10K. * Hustle - like yesterday, keep on the hustling and finding cash wherever you can, whatever color it is. Maybe at this stage you can look for things that pay more but take more time, like bird dogging in real estate or working on setting up a service business. * 401k Match - If your employer offers it, I would be looking at getting that match to my 401k. It's free money and will grow over time. Now that you aren't wondering where your next meal is, you can start building a foundation. * Roth IRA - if you're in a low income, the government gives you tax incentives besides just the Roth but also on your annual filing. Look at getting that filled by April 15th with at least some of your extra cash besides the emergency money. I don't know what kind of emergency fund you need, but imagine what would happen if you couldn't work for 3 months and do the math on what it would take to live another day. Onto tomorrow! PS - I'm in a funk but said I would post this today, wrote it over the weekend when I was better. Got to keep our commitments. $10,000 Step: https://afterhour.com/ColorOfCash/nSV/if-my-net-worth-was-dollar1000 $0 Step: https://afterhour.com/ColorOfCash/nrT/if-my-net-worth-was-dollar0-an

Appreciate that you’re still writing it even while in a funk. My actual fire numbers are low but if I wanted to achieve FATfire that number would be about 10 million accounting for future kids, and a bunch of other ppl I’d be supporting. I look forward to the rest of the series. I usually max out my Roth, right now I haven’t cause I am in the process of trying to learn high value skills like programming so that I can get a higher source of income and stopped working temporarily.

Thanks for taking time to post! Especially when you don’t want to! Just turned 30 and I’m still only a tiny bit ahead of this and have my Roth 401k crankin with a whopping $30k in it but my company (Google) match is bonkers so I’ll keep maxing as much as possible. I just got started investing and gave myself $300 to start. I’m not new to investing but so much has changed since I was in Finance 10 years ago and I’m turtling my way back in. Went all in on $XRP at 1.80/share and made a life-changing $150 so far 😂. Every free penny I’ve got will go to growing on my race to 10MM. Posts like this really go a long way and I appreciate the time 🐢🔥

What would you suggest for a 1099 job? I don't have a 401k. I have a Roth IRA. Whats another something I can stash my cash in and let it grow
💎
I’m doing gig work and trying to get as many tax deductions as possible, if I put money on my Roth until that date you mentioned it will help? Also does the yearly limit of 7k start on that date aswell? Say I’m only able to put so much until then, will I be able to put another 7k after?

His advice is the best, pls don’t be like me who only did 1% 😭if you’re hired and the company offers 401K match, and do the at least 3 or higher match if you can, you will thank yourself later. I did 1% match with company that I was working for and work for 4years, wish I knew sooner but $18k sitting on my 401k it’s not a lot 😭. I tell everyone do 401k. What you put on 401k, the company will match with you, know that. 🫶🏻 good luck everyone. I am back to investing again, because love investing, lost 4k few years ago. Now slowly going, little by little. Doing research and trynna catch up with everyone 😭😂… Help for help 🫶🏻, we all here for same reason.
