YieldMax Portfolio - My Dad's
I have done good and bad with it, but it is currently positive (up $66 in Dec, $5K was locked in CD until 12/19) so it's time to discuss an update: $CONY: 100 @ $15.38 Cost Basis - This is the current loser, I did add some more today to bring down the cost basis. On 12/13 a $53.56 dividend from 40 shares came in. $MSTY: 10 @ $29.60 Cost Basis - I need to get myself out of $MSTR trades before I feel more comfortable adding more into his portfolio. I know it's the wrong mentality but managing someone else's money you take less risks. $NVDY: 103 @ $23.97 Cost Basis - Another I should have added more with dips, working on refining the strategy for this account. $TSLY: 60 @ 16.17 Cost Basis - Thought it was high when entered, yet went higher. $YMAX: 60 @ $17.80 Cost Basis - This one is the most stable as it holds all their funds. Current Thoughts: * Set an entry point 5% below the current cost basis of existing positions. Consider dividend dates to enter for the week. * Add $AMZY as my opinion is things going up for them overall in the coming year. The fund has been stable for a while. * Add more to $YMAX to give him some more stability and weekly payments. Can always look to sell some when others are on sale. Estimate for January: $530 dividends from $6334 investment. $1829 cash reserve for next investment. January no new cash added as he did $2K this month.

I never heard of these until I followed you and I appreciate the info. I'm giving these a try. It almost seems to good to be true tho. What's the catch?

Thanks for starting this convo, been getting curious as I dumped all my $TLT tired of waiting to put into few of these. How do you contrast $YMAX to $YMAG? Only one I am invested dividend wise is $SCHD. Had considered $JEPI but probably didnt due to expense ratio Would you long terms hold these Yieldmax ones? https://elite.finviz.com/quote.ashx?t=YMAX&p=d&ty=p

Be careful with YieldMax ETFs they are pricey and when the stocks drop, they will reverse split and you will lose dividends.

600 $MSTY and 100 $YMAX here. Added some $YMAX to Roth to help supplement my VOO buys and since I maxed out contributions 2024. About $1850 MSTY dividends per month without DRIP
